It's been a year now since Ryan left us. Sometimes I wish we could just change things so that everything was back to normal--Ryan back at the Post Office doing good and moving on with life--something that Bruce and I would talk about when we would chat on the phone. Bruce was so proud and happy that Ryan was doing well. We would routinely talk about our kids and our hopes and dreams for them. I think that’s why all of this is so, so difficult to comprehend and even talk about now. It’s one thing when someone is real old and passes away, but something much more difficult to handle when it’s someone like Ryan, so young and full of life.

I know we can't change the events of the past and really the only thing that we can find any relief of pain is through prayer. There is no other way and I firmly believe that. I pray for Ryan, Bruce, Craig, and the whole family.

When I get together with Bruce we talk a little about Ryan. I know it’s still very difficult. Hopefully in time it will be easier. One thing that is for sure, memories can never be taken away, and that’s very important. A few months ago Bruce, Craig, and I went to the Butler Art Museum in Youngstown and saw the tribute made for Ryan. The painting donated by a famous artist in honor of Ryan and the written dedication is really amazing and something very special. I kind of felt that Ryan may have been there with us when were there chatting about him. I’m glad I was there with them guys.

I still can’t forget about the time Ryan, Bruce, and I went fishing and I brought this giant crazy straw hat. Both of them were wearing it and we were all laughing and joking about it. It was a fun day that I’ll never forget. I attached a pic of Ryan wearing that hat. He looked great!

God Bless You Ryan, and also God Bless Bruce, Craig, and the whole family. All of you are like a second family to me. See you around.
